Set the Laser Positioning Mode
This article applies to:
D1 and D1 Pro with all laser modules.
The Laser positioning light tells you the projection position of the laser beam on the material. It also helps you get a general idea of the border of your design through the framing process.
There are two types of position light, namely the red cross, and the laser spot. They are generated from different light sources (see the outlets in the below picture) and work differently.
The Red Cross Positioning
The red cross mode is activated by default. The light gets projected from the laser outlet down to the surface. And it's in a shape of a cross, hence the name.
Note: There is a spacing between the cross and the laser beam, so the actual working area on the X-axis is slightly shortened.
The Laser Spot Positioning
The laser spot mode uses a weakened laser beam to mark the position. There is no offset between the marked spot and the actual working position. Since this is laser light, when this mode is set, it only gets triggered during the framing.
Switch the Positioning Mode
If you want to set a different positioning mode, please follow the below instructions.
- Connect your machine to the computer.
- Launch XCS, Click on the wheel sign for setting.
- Go to Working parameters -> Positioning modes.
- Select the mode you want. For laser spot mode, move on to the next step.
- At the preview page, enable the laser spot and set the light strength up to 10%.
