Rotate the X and Y axes when using RA

I have the RA for my S1 and I've toyed with it to calibrate certain things I'll like to cut. However, due to the internal width of the S1, I need to reorient the RA perpendicular to the X-axis (the axis on which the laser module rides) so that I can cut long pieces of material (I have the riser, so the material could protrude thought the back or front of the unit.

 

Normally, the laser moves back and forth performing the X-axis movement and the RA rotates providing Y-axis movement. I need to change this such that laser module can remain stationary (left-right) and move forward and back while the RA performs the equivalent of the X-axis movement.
