Possible Causes

  1. Oil stains: When the material is not fully burned during laser processing, the dust particles and the moisture in the air get mixed up and produce a tar-like substance.
  1. Scratches: The baseplate of xTool M1 is an aluminum sheet with a coating of black oxide. The coating may disappear after the laser cuts through a material, exposing the aluminum. It won't affect the function of the laser and the blade.

Solutions

  1. For oil stains, clean the baseplate with tissues moistened with alcohol.
  2. For scratches, place a piece of tin foil on the baseplate of xTool M1.
