Task Canceled During Processing
This article applies to:
D1 and D1 Pro with all laser modules.
When you use XCS to operate D1 or D1 Pro, you may find the error "Task canceled" after you press the start button or after the machine processes for some time.
Please follow the instructions below to troubleshoot.
This article introduces the troubleshooting steps with the USB cable or Wi-Fi connection.
Error in USB Cable Connection
#1 Check the USB Cable
-
Switch to the Wi-Fi connection by referring to the link.
-
If the Wi-Fi signal is weak or not available, please try using the mobile hotspot.
Note:
With the USB cable connection, XCS creates processing data and transfers it to xTool D1 or D1 Pro bit by bit at the same time. If the machine can not receive the data in time, XCS will prompt "Task Canceled".
With the Wi-Fi connection, XCS uploads all the processing data to the TF card one time, and the machine processes the data in the TF card.
#2 Check CPU Occupancy
-
Please turn off the computer and turn it on again.
-
Make sure XCS is running alone and try again.
Note: If any two of the software are running at the same time, the processing may fail.
#3 Check the XCS Cache Files
Please refer to the following steps to clean the cache.
Make sure the XCS is not running. Close it if it is.
-
Go to the cache folder according to the paths below. Remember to replace the User Name in the following path with your actual user name.
For Windows:
C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\xTool Creative Space\Local Storage
For macOS:
/Users/User Name/Library/Application Support/xTool Creative Space/Local Storage
-
Delete all files under the Local Storage folder.
-
Relaunch XCS and see if it works.
#4 Check the Computer Performance
Please refer to the following computer performance requirements for running XCS.
#5 Check the Start Button
Make sure you do not hold down the start button during the processing.
Note: During processing, if you press the start button, the processing task will stop; if you long-press the start button, the processing task will be canceled.
#6 Check the Processing Indicator
-
Check if the indicator is flashing blue after you have uploaded the file from XCS to the machine with the USB cable connection.
-
If not, please upgrade the XCS software to the latest version.
#7 Check the Software
When the machine is processing, additional software operations are prohibited, as shown below.
-
Another computer or mobile phone connects to the same machine through Wi-Fi.
-
Minimize XCS software, change the parameters of the processing file, or connect XCS to another machine.
-
When the machine processes with XCS, run LightBurn at the same time.
Error in Wi-Fi Connection
#1 The TF Card Is Pulled Out
-
Do not pull out and replug the TF card during processing.
Otherwise, the processing task will be canceled when the machine is framing or processing.
-
If you need to replace the TF card, make sure the machine is turned off.
#2 Check the Wi-Fi Environment
Switch to the mobile hotspot or another Wi-Fi signal.
Note: If the Wi-Fi signal is weak, the processing file in XCS can not be transferred to the machine completely, and the task will be canceled during processing.
#3 The TF Card Is Faulty
Replace the faulty card after making sure the Wi-Fi environment is fine.
Note: If the TF card is faulty, the processing data in the machine is not complete, and the task may be canceled or the machine hits the frame during processing.
If None of the Above Works
If you have followed the instructions above and the issue is still not resolved, please read the article in the link below, collect the troubleshooting steps you have taken, and contact xTool tech support for further advice.
