D1 and D1 Pro with all laser modules.

Issue Description

When you engrave something, you may find the results different from what it's supposed to be. For example, the machine engraves a wavy or distorted line when it's supposed to be straight. To reproduce the issue to confirm, you can engrave a big square using XCS and see if the lines on the X-axis and Y-axis are wavy.

If the Lines on the X-Axis Are Wavy

#1 Check the X-Axis Belt

  1. Check the tightness of the belt and make sure the tension is set properly.
  2. For detailed steps, please refer to this video: Adjust the Tightness of the Timing Belts [Video].

#2 Check the X-Axis Rail

  1. Check if there is any obstacle or wear down on the gantry rail.
  2. Remove the obstacle from and/or apply the lubricating grease to the rail.
  3. For maintenance steps, please refer to this video: Lubricate the Guiding Rail [Video].

#3 Check the Z-Axis Plate

  1. Check if the plate is loose. If yes, adjust the tightness of the plate. Please refer to this video: Adjust the Z-axis Plate Tightness [Video].

#4 Check the Z-Axis Plate Wheels

If the wheels are damaged or wrong in size, please contact tech support for advice.

If the Lines on the Y-Axis Are Wavy

#1 Check the Y-Axis Belts

  1. Check the tightness of the belts on both the left and right plates of the machine frame.
  2. Usually, the left belt is fixed, while the right belt may need some extra adjustments.

#2 Check the Y-Axis Rails

  1. Check if there is any obstacle or wear down on both rails.
  2. Remove the obstacle from and/or apply the lubricating grease to the rails.
  3. For maintenance steps, please refer to this video: Lubricate the Guiding Rail [Video].

#3 Check the Drive Shaft

  1. Check if the coupler is tightened properly and see if the two ends of the shaft are in place.
  2. Check if the drive shaft (aka the optical shaft) is bent or damaged.
  3. If so, it may need to be replaced. Please contact tech support for advice.

If the Lines Are Straight

#1 Check the Firmware Version

  1. Make sure your firmware version is up-to-date.image4.PNG
  2. Change the processing parameters.

#2 Check the Processing Params

If the processing speed or the density of the lines is too high, the engraved lines may get distorted.
Try the following steps and see if it gets better:
  1. Lower the processing speed;
  2. Enlarge the size of the file;
  3. Adjusting the engraving density to 100.
Note: When you lower the speed, it is recommended to set it to 10mm/s for test purposes.

#3 Check the Engraving Mode

If you use the engraving mode, not the score mode, please refer to the article below:

If None of the Above Works
