Troubleshooting XCS Error Code Qx08 0 for Laserbox
Issue Description
Error Code 'Qx08 0': Water Pump not Working
The Qx08 0 error code indicates that the water pump is not working properly. If you see a pop-up notification with this error code, please refer to the steps below to troubleshoot the issue.
#1 Check the Firmware Version
Connect the machine and check if the firmware is up-to-date in XCS (version 40.15.022.01.ht1).
- If not, contact customer support for advice.
- If yes, please move on to the next step.
#2 Check the Laser Tube
Turn off the machine and remove the 8 screws from the laser tube cover, and then remove the laser tube cover. Push the entire X-axis components back and forth, and see if there is any significant shaking of the liquid inside the laser tube (as shown in the video).
- If yes, it indicates that the laser tube needs to be replaced.
- If not, please move on to the next step.
#3 Check the Air Pump
After the machine is turned on, the pump should automatically open a minute after, and the left side of the body will have a clear water flow sound. The water pump will stop working when the machine is turned off, and the sound of the water flow will disappear immediately.
If the sound is particularly sharp when the pump is working after turning on the machine, you can remove the left side of the body, and then refer to the video to pressurize the water tank, and then restart the machine.
If there is no sound coming out of the left side, please move on.
#4 Check the Y1 Board Voltage
Turn the machine off, refer to the video to dismantle the machine, re-plug the pump cable (below), and restart the machine.
If the issue persists, please test the pump interface on the Y1 board with a multimeter in the power-on state to see if there is voltage (when testing, the pump plug needs to be connected to the Y1 board normally. And need to slightly peel off the pump wire insulation, to ensure that the multimeter pen can be measured to the metal part of the wire, as shown below).
- If the voltage is 24V or close to 24V, replace the pump;
- If the voltage is close to 0V or far below 24V, replace the Y1 board;
# If None of the Above Works
