The Engraved Image isn't Closed Up
This article applies to:
D1 and D1 Pro with all laser modules.
Issue Description
If you engrave an image that involves closed shapes, you may find the ends of the line not meeting each other. If so, please follow the instructions below to troubleshoot.
#1 Check the X-Axis Belt
- Check if the X-Axis belt is loose. Or, engrave a square using XCS.
- If the lines on the X-axis direction are bent, tighten the belt according to this video guide:
Adjust the Tightness of the Timing Belts [Video] - Tighten the set screw to adjust the belt tension as shown below.
#2 Check the X-Axis Rail
1. Check if the X-axis guide rail is damaged, rusty, or stained.
2. Clean the rail and apply the lubricating grease or replace the rail if necessary.
#3 Check the Y-Axis Belts
- Check if the Y-axis belts are loose. Or, engrave a square using XCS.
- If the lines on the Y-axis directions are bent, the Y-axis belts may be loose.
- Tighten the belt according to this video guide:
Adjust the Tightness of the Timing Belts [Video] - If the Y-axis belts can't be tightened up, the pulley on the Y-axis motor may be slipped off.
- Please loosen the Y-axis belt, put the rod in the hole, and then tighten the Y-axis belt.
#4 Check the Machine Frame
To make sure the machine can operate with high precision, the assembly of the frame and the drive shaft must be proper.
- Check if the left, right, front, and back plates are installed properly.
- Check if all the screws are in the right place and fastened tightly.
