This page describes the recommended installation way of the fire safety set on xTool M1. You can install it, however, based on your actual use.
Install the fire safety set
1. Determine how many sensors you need to use
You can determine how many sensors to be used based on the structure and processing space of your laser machine.
💡 Tips: Sensor 1 is designed to detect flames around a laser module, and sensor 2 is designed for detect flames in other areas.
The closed processing space of xTool M1 is about 0.05 m3. In addition to sensor 1 for detecting flames around the laser module, you can use four sensor 2, fitting them on the inside of the lid.
2. Install Sensor 2
Use the 3M tape to stick the sensors on the inside of the lid.
1. Open the lid of xTool M1.
2. Use the 3M tape to stick a sensor on the inside of the lid.
⚠️ Note: Pay attention to the direction of the connection cable of the sensor when you attach the 3M tape on the sensor. For xTool M1, you need to make sure that all the connection cables of the sensors can be arranged toward the right side of xTool M1.
Fit the other three sensors in the same way.
💡 Tips: It is recommended that you stick four sensors following the suggestions. However, you can stick them based on the actual use.
(The distance between the sensors on the second row and the bottom of the lid must be>11cm. )
3. Stick cable clamps and fix the connection cables on them.
Stick cable clamps to the other places in the same way. The following figure shows the positions recommended. You can determine the number of cable clamps and the positions to fit them as required.
4. Arrange the connection cables of all the sensors toward the right side of xTool M1 by inserting them into the slots of the cable clamps, as shown in the following figure.
3. Install Sensor 1
1. Use the 3M tape to stick the sensor to the right side of the laser module.
3. Loosen the screws of the base plate, remove the base plate.
4. Close the lid and turn over the xTool M1.
5. Stick a cable clamp on the bottom of the laser module.
Fix the conncection cable to the slot of the cable clamp.
6. Turn over xTool M1 again.
7. Put in the base plate and tighten the screws.
8. Move the laser module. Use the 3M tape to stick the cable clamps on the rear of the beam.
9. Arrange the connection cables of two sensors toward the right side of xTool M1 by inserting them into the slots of the cable clamps, as shown in the following figure.
⚠️ Attention: The cable between the cable clamps needs to be reserved a certain length to avoid blocking the movement of the laser module.
10. Wind out the connection cable under the beam. Use cable ties to fix the connection cable on the drag chain, arranging the connection cable toward the right side of xTool M1.
4. Stick the tube clamp and insert one end of the tube into it
1. Stick the tube clamp on the inside middle of the front plate of xTool M1.
2. Insert one end of the tube from the right bottom of xTool M1, go through the hole of the base plate, and insert it into the tube clamp.
3. Installation of the tube clamp completed!
If you use xTool riser base with xTool M1, you can place the tube as follows.
1. Remove the light shielding plate of xTool riser base.
2. Insert one end of the tube from the right bottom of xTool riser base, go through the hole of the base plate, and insert it into the tube clamp.
3. Put the light shielding plate back and make sure the tube goes through from the bottom recess of it.
4. Installation of the tube completed!
5. Install the sensor hub
1. Stick the sensor hub to the front of xTool M1.
2. Take the front part of the sensor hub down, wind the connection cables around it, insert the connectors into the ports on it, and put the front part back on the rear part.
💡 Tips: The first port on the sensor hub is provided for Sensor 1, the one designed for detecting flames around the laser module.
3. Installation of the sensor hub completed!
6. Insert the other end of the tube into the control box
7. Connect the sensor hub to the control box
8. Connect your machine to a power supply
⚠️ Note: Connect the power cable of the machine to the smart switch, so that the machine can be powered off immediately when a flame is detected.
9. Connect the fire safety set to a power supply
⚠️ Note: DO NOT connect the power cable of the control box to the smart switch. The control box needs not only to control the smart switch to power off your machine when a flame is detected, but also to continue the alarm and even fire extinguishing after the smart switch is turned off.
Installation completed!
